Biography

Tran Quang Huan, born in 1965 in the coastal city of Hai Phong, is a prominent contemporary Vietnamese painter recognised for his elegant oil canvas works. His formal artistic journey began at the Hanoi College of Fine Arts, from which he graduated in 1987. Alongside developing his signature fine arts practice, he built a professional career working as an illustrator and artist for the Hai Phong Newspaper. Today, he is an official member of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association.

His distinctive artistic style merges rich, transitioning oil colours with a unique approach to human anatomy. He frequently applies elongated, stretched body proportions—reminiscent of tribal sculpture—yet masterfully balances this distortion with a soft, meticulous technique that renders his subjects exceptionally gentle and graceful. Tran’s work focuses heavily on nostalgic themes, capturing the flawless beauty of traditional Vietnamese women, quiet rural childhoods, and historic Hanoi city life. This evocative style was notably showcased in his acclaimed 30-piece solo exhibition, "Autumn's Colours," at the Hotel De L'Opera Hanoi, securing his status as a highly sought-after name for international art collectors.
